Gigabit & Fiber Connectivity

With increasing bandwidth requirements from applications such as voice, video, database management, and other services that slow throughput and response time, you can maximise productivity with Gigabit Ethernet and Fiber connectivity for your demanding networking environments. Take advantage of forwarding rates up to 71.4 million pps, and a switching capacity of 96 Gbps.

The non-blocking design of these managed switches offer full Gigabit throughput simultaneously to all 48 or 24 10/100/1000 ports to ensure reliable performance. Fiber connectivity is enabled through 4 combination Small Form Factor Pluggable (SFP**) Gigabit ports.

Advanced Management & Control

Optimize bandwidth, security, and control with the full Layer 2 management capabilities available with the GSM7224 or GSM7248. Use any combination of the following features to ensure uptime, availability, bandwidth and throughput: SNMP, RMON, extensive VLAN (Virtual Local Area Networks) support, traffic prioritisation, link aggregation, port mirroring, port Trunking, Quality of Service, Rapid Spanning Tree, RADIUS, DHCP, broadcast storm protection and more. The GSM7224 & GSM7248 Gigabit Managed Switches are manageable with any popular SNMP-based management software, but optimized for NETGEAR ProSafe Network Management Software NMS100.

Easy to Use

With either the GSM7224 or the GSM7248 you can deliver a Gigabit to the desktop in minutes. Use these Layer 2 managed switches straight out of the box. All ports are auto negotiating and support Auto Uplink™ technology, which automatically adjusts for different Ethernet cables. Choose from two easy-to-use management interface options: Web interface or a command line interface available through console or Telnet. Comprehensive remote administration capabilities reduce the need for on-site maintenance. Both managed switches are easy to troubleshoot with built in testing capability locating cable related network problems.

Value For Money

The GSM7224 & GSM7248 offer Layer 2 networking management and full Gigabit power at a compelling price. Use at the edge to improve departmental connections, or at the core to upgrade a Gigabit Ethernet backbone for less expenditure than you may expect. Like all NETGEAR products, everything you need is in the box – including a rack mount kit, power and serial cables.
