WIRELESS ACCESS POINTS

Wireless Access Points

A wireless access point connects two or more computers on a home network wirelessly. Think of a wireless access point in the same way you would a wired network switch; it is simply a method of connecting computers together, using wireless signals rather than Ethernet cables.

All of NETGEAR's wireless broadband routers include a built-in wireless access point to provide connectivity between all the computers on your home network and out on to the Internet. A small home wireless network will typically only require a wireless router with a built in access point - as this will provide enough signal to reach all the rooms in your home and probably your garden.

If you already own a wired broadband router (either cable or ADSL) you can use an access point to transform your wired network to a wireless one. If you don't wish to add extra hardware to your home network, swap your wired broadband router for an all-in-one wireless broadband router with access point built-in.
