Managed Networking

NETGEAR's ProSafe™ Network Management System helps you to configure, manage and diagnose your network, ensuring that it delivers data and services in a timely, reliable and cost effective manner. The NMS100 system facilitates network administration tasks required to monitor and control complex business data networks.

The ProSafe™ NMS100 works in association with any managed switching device that uses the industry standard Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), which includes Layer 2 switches, Layer 3 switches, wireless access points, traditional routers, servers and printers. The NMS100 Network Management System automatically discovers and maps up to 1000 devices on your business network.

Proactive Management

Network statistics can be graphed in real time, or stored as historical data for trend analysis. Proactive thresholds and alerts (including email or pager notification) detect bottlenecks and other network problems and inform you of trouble before users start to complain or network outage occurs! An easy-to-use graphical interface enables you to monitor everything from network elements to users and groups of devices. ProSafe NMS100 also provides the tools for capacity planning and the ability to analyse hotspots where future congestion may become an issue.

Compatible & Versatile

The NMS100 is optimised for NETGEAR managed network products, you can view NETGEAR-specific information, globally highlight NETGEAR VLANs (Virtual Local Area Networks) and list all known NETGEAR devices. A fully functional 30-day trial version is included with every NETGEAR managed product.

NMS100 is not however NETGEAR exclusive, the ProSafe NMS100 Network Management System supports managed devices from other major network and equipment vendors. This includes all network components that conform to standard MIBs, as well as private MIBs from 3com, Cisco, HP and other major manufacturers. For further details, download the datasheet.
